Imaging
Altep uses high-speed scanners which can produce both black & white and color images. All scanners can image two-sided documents in a single pass. Best-of-breed software applications optimize our image capture process and provide more options to our clients.
Our Imaging Quality Control process consists of a page by page review of each image to the original document verifying the successful capture as well as the quality and legibility of each image.
Altep can also employ a variety of automated processes to clean up the images. These include image deskew(straightening the text), removing black borders, and noise removal (despeckling). These processes will enhance image appearance and prepare the documents for more accurate OCR processing.
OCR
Optical Character Recognition is a process in which scanned images of typewritten and/or handwritten documents are converted into machine-readable text files. OCR can be completed in multiple languages, and the result can be exported to several different formats including fully searchable PDFs. OCR results depend on the quality and legibility of the original document.
Document Coding
Altep’s teams have nearly two decades’ experience in coding from both image and paper documents. Three options are available:
Manual coding is done entirely by hand.
Synthetic coding employs best-of-breed software to achieve accurate, automated coding.
Hybrid coding is an integration of the two which combines the speed afforded by the synthetic coding program with our 100% manual quality control process.
